One of our favorite events each year is our annual in-school tournament, the Kuk Soolympics. We give our students the chance to practice competition in a friendly, supportive environment in part to introduce students to the fun of competition within the greater WKSA community.
This year’s Kuk Soolympics will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 11am to 4pm. It is an all-day event, and we recommend that students and families just plan on being in the dojang the entire day — while we will publish a best-guess schedule about one week before the event, it is just a best guess, and we would hate for any student to miss his or her event because of scheduling changes.
Also this year, we’ll be promoting some of our black belt candidates (Dahn Bo Nim students) to first degree black belt, or Jo Kyo Nim! Please come help us celebrate this amazing accomplishment with them.

This was our Mystery Event in 2013 and so much fun, we’re bringing it back as a known event this year. You’ll be assigned to a team, and it’s your team’s job to knock over the tower (and as many piggies as possible) with the giant slingshot. Yes, of course this is a well-known martial arts skill; why do you ask?
Well, it’s a mystery, isn’t it? No, we don’t provide hints, and yes, you should totally compete in this.
Black Belt competition, potluck snacks, archery and knife-throwing competitions…
Let’s face it. It’s going to be a great day, and we hope you can join us!
